1808 - 2nd Bn 43rd and 1st Bn 52nd, with Sir John Moore's Army, reached Cambeeros.
 
1915 – 2nd Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – COTTES.
 
1915 – 1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion – HEBUTERNE
Battalion in Trenches.
Artillery bombarded by our guns between 12 & 1.30pm including 20 rounds from 8.2 and 10 from 9.2 Howitzers.
Each of which fired for first time.
 
1944 – 1st Bucks Bn – Holland
On the 31st December the Composite Company moved off under the command of Major Brocklehurst, with Captain Eyles, officer commanding support platoon, in charge of the armoured cars. No one was told at the time exactly what their role would be, but it was later discovered that it consisted of holding part of the line under No. 4 Special Service Com­mando Brigade opposite the Scheldt estuary, with the Germans still entrenched on the opposite island of Schouwen en Duiveland.
 
1965 – 2359 hrs The Regiment ceased to be known as 1st Green Jackets, 43rd & 52nd.

1837 - First party of the 43rd reached Quebec, 370 miles in 18 days, including 2 days' halt. (Canada)
 
1915 – 2nd Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – COTTES.
9am – Regiment marched through CHOCQUES and LILLERS (12 miles) to billets at COTTES (ST. HILAIRE) arriving there (after dinners on road) at 2.30pm.
Billets considerably scattered but good: a few in rooms but the majority in farm buildings (lofts etc).
 
1915– 1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion – HEBUTERNE
Moved to HEBUTERNE, took over trenches from 6th/GLOSTERS.
Some “MINNIES” at 2pm.

12 noon – Relief of 2nd Division by 33rd Division commenced.
The Regiment marched to BETHUNE (5 miles) and were billeted in RUE D’AIRE area.

300 men Working Parties.
 
1918 - 2nd Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - reached Stommeln (near Cologne).
 
1944 – 2nd (AB) Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – Ardennes Offensive
The commanding officer and several officers went over to a party given by the 43rd. Not since the disband­ment of the Light Division after Toulouse had the two regiments met on the battlefield.
 
1944 – 1st Bucks Bn – Brussels 
On the 27th December we were suddenly ordered to produce a rifle company at full war establishment, plus two sections of armoured cars, to go to Goes in South Beveland, where they would come under No. 4 Special Service Commando. A compo­site company was organised by choosing the fittest officers and men from A and D Companies.

Christmas Day the Regiment moved through Ath, Mons and Charleroi to Givet, reached at 0400 hrs. By noon the 52nd had taken over the Givet bridgehead and defence of the town. At this time Givet was an American replacement depot and American troops were available to help in the defence, as were French troops to man posts along the river towards Dinant, where the rest of the brigade was posted

Major Sir R CODRINGTON Bart and Lieutenant the Hon S G PELHAM, both of 11th Hussars left after attachment for instruction in trench warfare since 16th.
T/Capt C A F FOWKE detailed on orders received from 2nd Division for transfer to 5th Battalion and left today.
10am – Regiment commenced relief of Glasgow Highlanders in A1 Section.
Companies distributed as follows:
1 company (3 platoons in trenches South of main LA BASSEE road, 1 platoon in STAFFORD redoubt)
1 company in trenches North of road and 1 platoon in PARK LANE redoubt:
1 company (Headquarters and 2 platoons in CUINCHY Support Point and 2 platoons at BRADDEL Point:
Headquarters and 1 company in HARLEY Street.
Enemy very quiet all this period, though our artillery very active every day and with organised bombardments at infrequent hours on nights of 24th/25th and 25th/26th.
 
1915– 1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion – HEBUTERNE
Relieved by 6th GLOSTERS about 2pm.
Battalion marched to billets via Corduroy path & JENA.
 
1944 – 2nd (AB) Bn Oxf & Bucks LI
Just when the Regiment was preparing for Christmas dinners orders were received to reinforce the front in Europe against the German offensive in the Ardennes which came to be known as the Rundstedt Rush.
The advanced party under Major Edmunds left Tilbury on the 22nd December.

Artillery work effective but no advance was made by infantry on account of enemy’s extreme vigilance.

Two MINNIES fell in Left Coys lines. Very Good reprisals on our part.

At 8pm 3 parties of Germans were seen about 20 yards away. We opened fire with MGs & rifle fire & 2 men were seen to fall. Germans retired. Casualties 1 CPL of 18 LIVERPOOLS

1826 – 52nd  - received the 'Light Infantry Musket' in Canada.
 
1915 – 2nd Bn Oxf & Bucks LI –Trenches CUINCHY A2.
Companies started to march back to trenches in A2 Section, where we had never been previously in relief of 2/HLI.
Rain three days out of the four: enemy very quiet but alert and vigilant, especially at night.
Hard work keeping the trenches in passable order. Companies somewhat isolated and main work concentrated on keeping communication trenches open and free for passage.
About 200 13th Essex Regt daily employed in assisting this work.
Companies disposed as follows:
1 Company on Right Front with HQ in BRICKFIELD Keep and 1 platoon in CABBAGE PATCH Redoubt.
1 Company on Left Front with HQ and 2 platoons about railway embankment and 2 platoons in and about LOVERS KEEP.
Remaining 2 companies in houses in HARLEY STREET near PONT FIXE.
Regimental Headquarters at KINGSCLERE House.
These conditions as to distribution of companies had practically been imposed on account of the untenable condition of so many trenches; there was an unoccupied space of 150 yards in the front line between the outer flanks of the 2 companies.
 
1915– 1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion – HEBUTERNE
Battalion in Trenches.
Patrols sent out during Morning under cover of mist, brought in some German bombs found in what was believed to be a Sniping Post.
MINENWERFERS very active in afternoon. Considerable damage to trenches.
