2nd Lieut. E. C. Simmons proceeded on leave prior to attending Course at the School of Military Engineering, Chatham, on 22.9.19 (6 weeks' course).
1939 – 1st Bn OXF & BUCKS LI – COLCHESTER.
Meanwhile, fitting of equipment and promotions were completed by the 10th.
Most of the men had never fired the Bren gun, and firing of this weapon and rifles was carried out.
We also did some sweltering route marches and completely spoiled a farmer's field by some night digging.
1956 – 1st Bn OXF & BUCKS LI (43rd & 52nd) - CYPRUS
His Excellency the Governor of Cyprus, Field Marshal Sir John Harding, G.C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O., M.C., visited the Regiment.
He spoke to each company in turn and visited the Officers' and Serjeants' Messes.
1959 – 1st GREEN JACKETS (43rd & 52nd) – JELLALABAD BKS, TIDWORTH
The Regiment marched through Oxford.
The salute was taken by the Mayor of Oxford, Councillor F. M. Brewer, who addressed the Regiment.
