1872 – 43rd – On H.M.S Jumma arriving in Malta special leave was granted by the Govenor of Malta to the Serjeants of the 43rd to go on shore and mess with the Serjeants of the 52nd.

The following Officers left the regiment in order to proceed to England for a tour of 6 months duty at Home, being retained on the strength of the regiment in the Field:-
