Working parties taken from 5pm by the New Reserve (99th Infantry Brigade) Brigade.
The 5th Infantry brigade took over the front line of the 2nd Division and the Regiment moved with the forward lines of OVILLERS HUTS, becoming Reserve Battalion of the brigade in the Line.
Weather very cold; white frost and ground very hard.

At 4.30pm the Battalion moved from Camp and marched up to relieve the 1/7 R WARWICKS, the Support Bn of the Left Brigade-
Route via ECLUSIER – FRISE – XROADS in H.21.a thence by BOYAU GUERRIERES to the Support Trenches-
A Coy took over the Posts on the RIVER SOMME. B Coy the Left & C Coy the Right & TR IGLAU. Bn HQ were in this latter Trench.
D Coy remained at CAPPY in CAMP 50 as Works Coy.
