1874 – 52nd – Arrived at Portsmouth from Gibraltar and went into Cambridge Barracks after 6 years in the Mediterranean.
1916 –2nd Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – COUY-SERVINS Q.35.d.
The Regiment marched at 1.30pm via GD.SERVINS PETIT SERVINS to GOUY-SERVINS as part of 5th (or Reserve) Infantry Brigade to 2nd Division which was now in course of replacing 47th Division in the line.
Battle position if necessary, assigned to the regiment was the MAITKE and the one further forward line between CARENCY RIVER and SOUCHEZ RIVER, the left flank resting approximately in the ruined village of ABLAINST-NALANCE.
