1944 – 1st Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - NORMANDY Landed soon after midday on the 25th June at Courseulles, whence they marched to Beny-sur-Mer and met the advanced party.
1944 - 2nd (Airborne) Bn, Oxf & Bucks LI – LE MESNIL.
The attack was successfully beaten off and the enemy retired at 0410 hrs having suffered many casualties.
Letter H Coy HQ received a direct hit from an Self Propelled gun but suffered no casualties. The remainder of the day passed quietly.
