Very quiet period except for a certain amount of hostile rifle grenade activity.
Some Heavy Rain.
1916 – 1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion – HEBUTERNE
Battalion in Trenches.
1 Post of Right Coy (B) bombed by enemy just before daylight.
Several bombs fell among post causing us 6 casualties.
Post being isolated, impossible to withdraw casualties before dark & then with difficulty.
4 Killed, 3 Wounded.
Some shelling on both sides during night.

On the 22nd the Regiment moved up to Rothenburg (1102)

A very wet & unpleasant day.
During the morning we were honoured by a visit from Major General Gale and Divisional Commander.
