On this day 20th March
1814 – 43rd and 52nd - Engagement at Tarbes with the French (Peninsula).
1916 – 2nd Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – DIVION 124
12.45pm – Marched through BARLIN and BRUAY into billets at DIVION.
Very hot muggy day and men very soft for marching. Distance 7 miles.
Cleaning up, refitting and a couple of route marches occupied the time of this week. Some more wet and snow.
1916 – 1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion – HEBUTERNE PT K17/5-K23/6
Battalion in Trenches.
Artillery a little more active than usual on both sides.
1947 – 2nd Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - received notification that the 52nd Light Infantry must lapse into Suspended Animation.
