1915 – 2nd Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - IN TRENCHES AT GIVENCHY B1 Section
In the section occupied by the Regiment, 2 companies are in Front Line in good first line trenches.
The new second line was in course of completion. One company in Support near Canal, the other also in Support in vicinity of Orchard and Old Keep.
Enemy about 200 yards distant on canal bank but then forms a large re-entrant, extreme point about 600 yards away until opposite extreme left their trenches only 50 yards away.
Some heavy shelling from a Southerly direction of extreme left of front trenches on evening of the 1st.
Some intermittent shelling at times.
Casualties: One man killed.
