On this day 19th May
1874 - 52nd - embarked in H.M.S. Tamar at Gibraltar for England.
1917 – 2nd Bn OXF & BUCKS LI – LES QUATRE VENTS.
1917 – 1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion – RESERVE LINE.
Reserve Line – At Night B & C Coys supplied CARRYING PARTIES for Wire up to the Front Line and A Coy at work on DUG OUTS in SUNKEN ROAD.
During the day B COY HQ were shelled heavily by ENEMY ARTILLERY endeavouring to locate a BATTERY position just behind and were compelled to move further down the road.
During the evening the CO made an inspection of the Posts in the RESERVE LINE.
Weather: Fine and Warm
2nd LT NORMAN joined us.
Ration Strength: 23 Officers 590 OR.
1945 - 2nd (Airborne) Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – Bulford
The remainder of the Regiment arrived.
