1809 - Retreat on Corunna; Sir John Moore's Army in position at Monelos covering embarkation of sick and baggage
1915 - 2nd Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - Into trenches near FESTUBERT – 9 ½ Miles South East.
Took over trenches from the Meerut Cavalry Brigade at LE PLANTIN near FESTUBERT.
Two companies in Front line, Headquarters and two companies in billets ½ mile behind.
The original trenches had been given up owing to water.
The line now held was along the edge of the village where breastworks were being constructed.
On our right 3rd Brigade: on our Left Highland Light Infantry.
Casualties:- Killed = 1.
