1900 - 1st Bn Oxf LI - took part in the Capture of Bloemfontein.(Boer War).
1905 – 1st Bn Oxf LI – The following extract from Special Army Order, dated 21st December 1904, is published:-
His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to approve the following Corps of the regular Army and Auxiliary Forces being permitted in recognistion of services rendered during the South African War, 1899-1902, to bear upon their Colours and Appointments the words specified in each case:-
REGULAR FORCES – THE OXFORDSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY –
“South Africa 1900-1902”, “Relief of Kimberley” ,“Paardeberg”.
1918 – 2nd Bn OXF & BUCKS LI – METZ-EN-COUTURE.
Casualties: Wounded = 10.
1918 –1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion - IL MONTELLO (NERVESA). (Italy)
In the Line.
Considerable Artillery activity by both sides.
Humorous Italian Officers came up to see the Line in the evening.
Ration Strength: 36 Officers 804 OR.
Casualties: NIL.
To Hospital Sick: 2 OR.
