C Company relieved D Company, Lieutenant A. F. M. Paget was wounded in the shoulder and Captain G. R. Seers came up to take over D Company from Captain D. C. Taylor.
Another patrol from C Company encountered heavy fire and the commander, Lieutenant J. A. Hawkins, was killed.
