Snow fell heavily nearly all day from about 11.30am onwards, accompanied by thunder & lightening.
MAJOR HALL and 2nd LIEUT BATES reconnoitred 143 Brigade (Right Brigade) Area.
CAPTs RIGDEN and DARBY reconnoitred Marginal Line and drew up defensive scheme for this Line.
CAPT WRIGHT and 2nd LIEUT McCRACKEN proceeded to MARE and arranged the bringing up of remaining stores.
2nd LIEUT CAULFIELD and 25 OR were attached to 474 FIELD COY R.E for duty whilst in forward area.
Ration Strength: 36 Officers 762 OR. Casualties: NIL.
1918 - 2/4th Bn, Oxf & Bucks LI - To ST. VENANT and ROBECQ.
At 5 a.m. enemy shelling set fire to Bacquerolles Farm, and D Company moved into trenches until fire died down.
At 6.30 a.m. the enemy attacked the Glosters on their new front.
The attack was defeated with loss, and 70 prisoners were taken by the Glosters.
In the evening we were relieved by the 2/4th R. Berks, and moved to billets (St. Venant and Robecq), getting in about midnight.
1943 – 2nd (AB) Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - 6th Airborne Division was formed.
1945 – 1st Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – North West Europe
On the 24th the Regiment was relieved of its positions and moved round to Scheessel (1609) and later to Hetzwege (1112) as a preliminary to an attack north-west the following day.
