Bn in Divl Reserve. –
Battn left CAMP 56 at 1pm and marched to PERONNE via HERBECOURT – BIACHES – BAZINCOURT FARM – HALLE.
Advance parties were sent ahead to reconnoitre the outpost line covering PERONNE & for billeting.
Bn arrived at PERONNE about 4pm.
The town had been completely wrecked by the enemy and was still burning in several places. Coys were billeted in cellars on NW side of the square. Bn HQ were at the Chateau. Transport were in a field just E of LA QUINCONCE.
