1882 – 1st Bn Oxf LI - A letter was received, dated Horse Guards, 29th April 1882, stating that Her Majesty had been graciously pleased to command that the victory of QUEBEC, 1759, shall be inscribed on the Colours of the Regiment.
1919 –1st Bn, OXF & BUCKS LI – NORTH RUSSIA.
Patrol left bank (2 offrs. & 6 O.R’s) reports bolo advanced post300 yards in front of their forward position (Tin Hut).
Strength estimated at 10 rifles & 1 Machine Gun, which fired on patrol.
Evening. Bolo shelled MALA BERESNIK heavily, knocking in several trenches but caused no casualties.
Our guns replied by shelling Forward Position IGNATOVSKAYA & KITSA.
1944 - 2nd (Airborne) Bn, Oxf & Bucks LI – LE MESNIL.
A comparatively quiet day - no alarms - troops rested - for many the first undisturbed rest since landing.
