1827 – 43rd - New Colours presented to 43rd by Mrs. Haverfield at Gibraltar.

1918 – 2nd Bn OXF & BUCKS LI – BEAULENCOURT
Lieut. Tyrwhitt-Drake, M.C., proceeded to the 2nd Division Depot Battalion, for temporary duty, in relief of Lieut. E. H. Vigars.

1918 –1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion - S CROCE BIGOLINA.
Battalion attended Church Parade in the Morning.
The following Officers joined the Battalion from the Base for duty:-
LIEUT N.S.FLINT, 2nd/LIEUTs J.R. PIKE, M.W. BUTLIN, A.H.HERBERT.
Ration Strength: 40 Officers 860 OR. Casualties: 1 OR to Hospital – Sick.

1809 – 43rd and 52nd - Retreat on Corunna, throughout the day on the river Constantino, the rearguard engaged with pursuing French.

1918 – 2nd Bn OXF & BUCKS LI – BEAULENCOURT
Notification received of the award of the Military Cross to Lieut. J. E. H. Neville (Honours List, 1st January).

1918 –1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion - S CROCE BIGOLINA.
Battalion practising Ceremonial Drill in the Morning.
In the Afternoon Battalion marched to VILLA JONACH for inspection by the Commander in Chief, GENERAL SIR HERBERT PLUMER.
Brigade was inspected in Mass, and then marched past by Platoons.
Ration Strength: 40 Officers 859 OR. Casualties: 2 OR to Hospital – Sick.

1918 – 6th (S) Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – To ONTARIO CAMP near DICKESBUSCH (Ypres).

1945 – 1st Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - North West Europe (Ardennes)
C Company relieved D Company, Lieutenant A. F. M. Paget was wounded in the shoulder and Captain G. R. Seers came up to take over D Company from Captain D. C. Taylor.
Another patrol from C Company encountered heavy fire and the commander, Lieutenant J. A. Hawkins, was killed.

1945 – 2nd (AB) Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - North West Europe (Ardennes)
Bure was evacuated and C Company rejoined the Regiment, having lost during its defence five soldiers killed and one officer and nine soldiers wounded.

1815 - 1st Bn. 52nd under orders for North America, afterwards changed to Belgium, embarked at Portsmouth. (Waterloo campaign)

1831 – 52nd – Embarked at Bristol for Waterford (Ireland).

1918 – 2nd Bn OXF & BUCKS LI – BEAULENCOURT
A period of rest and training now began, which, in spite of the weather, was made good use of and was much appreciated. Various classes of instruction, competitions, exercises, and reconnaissances were carried out, but the period was on the whole uneventful.

1918 –1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion - S CROCE BIGOLINA.
Coys continued Training.
C Coy on Bombing Ground.
Companies cleaning up for inspection in the Afternoon.
Ration Strength: 40 Officers 866 OR. Casualties: 1 OR to Hospital – Sick.

1918 – 7th (S) Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – To CIDEMIL CAMPS.

1945 – 1st Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - North West Europe (Ardennes)
A and D Companies led the attack and C Company was to push patrols to the far edge of the two woods when A and D had won their objectives. Each of the leading companies had a troop of tanks from the 1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry in support. H hour was 1330 hrs on the 4th.
A and D Companies met little resistance and about twenty prisoners were taken and a number of Germans killed. The dead included the commander of Battle Group Schaeber. Two carriers received direct hits from enemy mortars, whose observer was discovered directing fire after the attack had overrun him. The observation post was quickly dealt with. A Company had some difficulty in clearing its objective of snipers.

A local counter-attack upon D Company's position was repulsed with heavy casualties, including the officer commanding the force. During this counter-attack D Company's commander, Major E. C. Vicker, was killed. Captain D. C. Taylor, who had already been wounded earlier in the attack, returned to take command until the following morning.

1945 – 2nd (AB) Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - North West Europe (Ardennes)
C Company (Major Granville) was detached to Bure to help the 13th Parachute Battalion (Lieutenant-Colonel P. Luard, D.S.O.), while the rest of the Regiment moved to Resteigne as reserve to the 5th Parachute Brigade.

1809 - 2nd Bn. 43rd and 1st Bn. 52nd at Calcabellos (Spain), during retreat on Corunna, rear-guard had a smart skirmish.

1918 – 2nd Bn OXF & BUCKS LI – HAPLINCOURT to BARASTRE ROAD.
By March - Route to BEAULENCOURT on the BAPAUME – PERONNE Road.
Captain G. Field, M.C., joined the Regiment from England, on completion of leave following the 5th Senior Officers' Course at Aldershot, and took over command of B Company, which became "Captain G. Field's Company."

1918 –1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion - S CROCE BIGOLINA.
Coys continued Training.
A Coy on the Range.
D Coy on Bombing Ground.
Ration Strength: 40 Officers 867 OR. Casualties: 4 OR to Hospital – Sick.

1945 – 1st Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - North West Europe (Ardennes)
On the 3rd orders were given for an attack on enemy positions in the Bois de la Rochette (324816) and the Bois des Spiroux (326820).
The weather was very cold with about six inches of snow and woods dense.

1859 - 43rd - Pte. H. Addison gained the V,C. in Punnah Jungle,Indian Mutiny

1912 – 2nd Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – The new rifle (Lee Enfield, Mark IV converted)(S.M.L.E.) was taken into use.

1918 – 2nd Bn OXF & BUCKS LI – HAPLINCOURT to BARASTRE ROAD.
Classes of instruction and work about the lines was carried on as far as weather conditions permitted.
The severe (but fine) weather necessitating special attention being given to work of such a nature as would keep men on the move and warm.

1918 –1/1st Buckinghamshire Battalion - S CROCE BIGOLINA.
Coys continued Training in the Morning.
C Coy on the Range.
D Coy found Working Party for digging bombing pits in the bed of the R BRENTA.
8 Officers proceeded to FONTANELLE to reconnoitre RUBBIO – FONTANELLE LINE.
Thick fog in the plain all day.
2/LIEUT COWLISHAW rejoined the Battalion from the Base.
Ration Strength: 39 Officers 871 OR. Casualties: NIL.

1918 – 5th (S) Bn Oxf & Bucks LI – Detrained at EDGEHILL and marched to CAPPY-SUR-SOMME.

1945 – 2nd (AB) Bn Oxf & Bucks LI - North West Europe (Ardennes)
ON the 2nd January the Regiment moved into reserve at Custinne (0882) with a counter-attack role on the Royal Ulster Rifles’ positions.
